CAO Arcana Series. What is it? This series aims to bring old-time tobacco methods into the new world. The Mortal Coil is just the beginning!
The first cigar in the CAO Arcana Series is the CAO Mortal Coil, named after the unique fermentation practices of andullo tobacco. Andullo is the oldest known fermentation method in the Dominican Republic; instead of stacking leaves in pilon piles, the tobacco is wrapped in palm bark and tightly compressed with ropes. This is where the name Mortal Coil comes from. When cut open, the tobacco is dark, super hard, and dense, taking on concentrated, sweet and earthy characteristics that are unique compared to the tobacco commonly found in today's cigars. I was first introduced to Andullo by Henke Kelner of Davidoff fame about 20 years ago. He gave me some of this tobacco and I tried to make cigars out of it because it was so good. I failed and CAO did not!!!
The CAO Mortal Coil cigar combines this Dominican andullo with Honduran (Jamastran Valley), Nicaraguan (Estelí), and Dominican Piloto Cubano tobaccos within the filler recipe. These leaves are surrounded by a Connecticut Shade leaf and cloaked with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The result is a fan-favorite cigar! Tons of smoke and flavor while being medium in body. I get chocolate, nuts, coffee, and a natural sweetness with every cigar! They are winners.
Here's the skinny. I stumbled on some of these cigars recently. They are pretty much sold out on the internet today!!! I've ditched the box and dropped the price for YOU. You get 20 of these GREAT smokes, free shipping, and the best price I could find on these. BOOM!!!
