I'm coming out firing!!! The Rocky Patel Twentieth Robusto Maduro ( 5 X 52) is a box-pressed treat celebrating Rocky being in the business for an amazing 20 years! The blend consists of a Honduran wrapper containing long-fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua. Tasting notes include flavors of leather, espresso, cinnamon, mocha, earth, wood, and white pepper. Rocky really outdid himself on this one!
The Alec Bradley Gatekeeper Robusto ( 5 X 50 ) should need no description. It's just that good! However, let me speak a bit more on this cigar. This is just the second release by Alan Rubin's sons. This cigar was rated 95 points and #7 of the year in 2020 by Cigar Aficionado. BOOM! The cigar is rich in flavors like nuts and cedar. It is smooth like a kitten's belly and should be smoked right away!
The Oliva Connecticut Reserve Robusto ( 5 x 50 ) is a much more mellow-bodied cigar than the "normal" Oliva offerings! This is due in part to the silky Connecticut-shade wrapper that drapes this fine cigar. Mellow, toasty, nutty, and naturally sweet best describe this offering.
The Fratello Inverso Robusto ( 5 X 52 ) is a twist on the original Fratello Navetta. The blend of the cigar is actually an inverse of the Navetta line the company introduced in 2017. It uses a Nicaraguan habano wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Compared to the original Ecuadorian oscuro wrapper over a Dominican binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The body is medium to medium-plus with hints of pepper, coffee, and dark chocolate. Look, it is blended by a legit rocket scientist, so, it must be great!
