Aging Room Solera Festivo Maduro ( 4.75 x 52) is blended by Rafael Nodel and Hochy Blanco in the Dominican Republic. The way they blend this cigar is using the solera method that is found in wines and some spirits like Johnny Blue. What? Yes, it's true! These gentlemen take very aged tobacco and blend it with other tobaccos, let them marry for a year or so, and make cigar magic. These uniquely aged fillers in this process are paired with a dark, oily, Mexican Maduro wrapper. The result is an incredibly smooth smoke with notes of pepper, chocolate, nuts, and spice. This is a great quartet of cigars. Solera is the outlier. It is a good cigar but somewhat schizophrenic in nature....... a true adventure, it was. The others are just a maduro lover's delight. The Aurora is to die for.
