First up is the Graycliff Nicaragua Habano ( 6 X 60 ). Quick history lesson. Graycliff used to be made only in the Bahamas at the Graycliff resort. The Graycliff resort is a super posh place and cigars made there will cost you about $40.00 each! The good people at Graycliff wanted good quality cigars that could be affordable for the everyday person. Thusly, these cigars are made in Nicaragua where the cost to make a cigar is way easier on the wallet! This blend has a little spice thanks to the Habano wrapper. This cigar is a good medium-bodied stick that has wonderful flavors and is a great value because you are not paying $40.00 for it. Fact, this entire sampler will get to your home for less than that! BOOM.
The Alec Bradley Prensado Toro ( 6 X 54 ) was the #1 blend of the year in 2011 with a staggering 96 points. The blend is fantastic ( Nicaraguan and Honduran), the taste is smooth with hints of red pepper, coffee, chocolate, and the body is medium-full. This cigar is a proven winner!
E.P. Carrillo Pledge has been named the #1 Cigar of 2020! The award comes with an impressive 98 point rating. The Sojourn ( 6 X 52 ) is the big brother to Prequel and that means more cigars for you to enjoy. Fact, this is the second time Ernie has won the #1 cigar of the year. The blend consists of a Habano Connecticut wrapper surrounding an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan long-fillers, creating a medium to medium-plus bodied masterpiece with notes of cedar, leather, earth, nuts, espresso beans, and spicy oak. What? I'm sticking to that description! Journey with Ernie ( I should trademark that!!!)
The Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Toro ( 5.5 X 50 ) may just actually be a larger Robusto. I'm sitting here baffled by the size. It's slightly smaller than the Pledge from above so I'm sticking with a short Toro or Robusto Grande. Vintage 1990 is a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan Ligero draped in a natural Broadleaf wrapper from Honduras. It's medium-bodied and box pressed with a really enjoyable, complex smooth flavor. I've heard Rocky say that it's rich and creamy so it must be true!
This is a stunning array of box-pressed lovelies that I am happy to put my companies name too! This is what Cigar Samplers is about. A true cigar sampler for those who enjoy a great smoke. Thank you all for your support!
